Wix Partners with Brazilian Soccer Team Flamengo

Online development platform company Wix has partnered with Brazilian soccer team Flamengo to develop its website.

According to the agreement, Wix will take over the official website’s design and hosting for the Campeonato Brasileiro Serie A.  Wix will be responsible for various actions such as featuring team players on the club’s official YouTube, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter pages. The effort is to engage with more Rio de Janeiro fans.

The agreement begins Thursday at Marcana Stadium where the Flamengo team will face Cruzeiro in the first game of the Copa do Brasil domestic knockout tournament.  The Flamengo team are currently fifth in the Campeonato Brasileiro Serie A.

This is not Wix’s first foray into sports sponsorships. The company has also partnered with other minor and major teams and events like the N.Y. Yankees, Manchester City and of course running SuperBowl commercials for a few years now.
